ABOUT THE AUTHOR
I was born in a suburb of San Diego, California, and raised in Lancaster, California. My parents moved to Eureka, California, when I was fourteen. I graduated from high school there in 1967.
I received a BA in mathematics from Occidental College in 1971 and an MA in math from the University of Colorado in Boulder in 1973.
My first daughter was born while I was in Colorado, just as I decided I really didn’t want a PhD after all.
After returning to California, where I lived for most of my life, my second daughter was born. I worked in aerospace for 32 years, beginning with part-time work at JPL while a student at Occidental. During that career, I earned a secondary teaching credential in mathematics and taught math at El Camino Community College for 15 years.
I started reading science fiction when I was twelve and fantasy soon after. A friend loaned me his copy of Tolkien when I was in college. I read it that weekend. It became my favorite genre.I’ve started several stories over the past fifty years. Most involved a man who encountered a dragon years ago and searched for it without success. This is my first story in which he is the dragon.
